Light-weight Possibility Ruaform was very much in the limelight a couple of seasons ago in hurdle events, when he won at Egmont and Wanganui, and later was brought north to the Great Northern meeting, where he fell, and it was a long time before he recovered his form. At the last Wanganui meeting he won the Century Hurdles and ran third in the May Hurdles. Going on to Trentham, he was second to Black Marlin in the Trentham HUrdles and was third to Travelling Agent and Black Marlin in the Winter Hurdles. At Riccarton he will be having his first test over two miles and a-half, and with only 51b above the minimum is a distinct possibility. Writers Must Not Bet!

As illustrating the profit the Government is getting out of the sport from bookmakers' turnover, there was £IB,OOO coming from this source alone from the A.R.C. meetings, the club's share being but £3OOO. National Veterans Billy Boy and Puncheslown are the veterans of the Grand National Steeplechase field, each being 12, The "babies" of the field are Diamond and Forest Glow, who are seven-year-olds. ■»" .'.•:-••-..
