TIENTSIN TRAGEDY

FIRE IN A THEATRE OVER TWO HUNDRED DEATHS (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON. March 18. The Peking correspondent of The Times says more than 200 persons, including 14 players, lost their lives when lire destroyed a theatre in a village 20 miles south of Tientsin. Most of the victims were trapped in the flimsy building, which burned furiously in the high wind. A number were drowned in the river, which was the only avenue of escape from the rear of the theatre.
