Examination of the hull of the Vardaas revealed extensive damage. RECORD HORSEBACK JOURNEY MELBOURNE, March 19. The record for the horse back journey of 560 miles from Melbourne to Sydney is 13 days. Attempting to break this old record, Percy Lennon, aged 16, has set out for Sydney astride Redlock, the racehorse involved in the remarkable “ ring in ” case in South Australia in 1934, incurring life disqualification of Lennon and Redlock. He was farewelled by a large crowd.
