(Received Dec. 10, at 9 p.m.) In a 12-round contest at Nottingham Maurjce Strickland (N.Z.) defeated Salahed Din, the Egyptian heavy-weight champion, who retired in the fourth round. The New Zealander heavily punished Din, who after the first round repeatedly appealed to his manager and the referee to stop the fight. The manager says Din was suffering from a cold and did not want to fight.
