SECOND AIR RACE

INQUIRIES IN PROGRESS INCREASED PRIZES NECESSARY LONDON, April 10. Pending a definite proposal from the South Australian Premier (Mr Butler), the aviation authorities are reluctant to discuss the prospects of a London-Ade-laide race for commercial machines in connection with the South Australian Centenary in 1930. Mr Butler appreciated that the prize money must be substantially higher than that for the Melbourne race in order to attract a worthwhile field. He intends to see the Prime Minister of Australia (Mr Lyons) and seek Commonwealth support.
