AVIATION SERVICES
METEOROLOGICAL ORGANISATION AN URGENT REQUIREMENT. .(Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 19. The ordinary broadcasting service as it exists in this country cannot pretend to meet the demands of aviation, according to Dr Kidson, director of the meteorological services. In an interview he said that before much regular flying could be done an adequate service would be required. This would take some years to organise since meteorologists must gain some experience. In his opinion a commencement should be made at once with the organisation of such a service, otherwise we would be caught without it when it was urgently wanted. It must be remembered, he said, that large sums would be invested in flying services and a meteorological organisation was an insurance it would be foolish to disregard. He indicated that, linked up with the meteorological service, would be services at the air ports, main aerodromes and other important points.
