LUCKY TICKET HOLDER

FORTUNE FOR FARM WORKER £12,000 CASH IN LOTTERY (Per United Press Association) NAPIER, October 13. Having remained a mystery for over a week, the holder of the ticket which won £12,000 cash in a Tasmanian lottery is revealed to be Jack Devane, a single man, aged 23 years, formerly a worker on a farm in Ruakituri Valley, near Wairoa. He has taken bis good fortune very calmly, and his plans for the immediate future are not definite. He realises that he is now in a position completely independent. The ticket with which he won was the first he had ever taken by himself, though previously he held shares in tickets purchased by syndicates.
