RECEIPTS AND EXPENDITURE THE EXCHEQUER RETURNS (British Official Wireless.) (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) RUGBY, August 2S. The Exchequer returns show that the total ordinary revenue collected last week amounted to £10,411,207, and that the ordinary, expenditure incurred was £0,045,951. As compared with last year, the receipts into the Treasury are well maintained. . _ ; The inland revenue for the current financial year up to August2s amounted to £92,628,000. Off the corresponding date of last year the total was £89,720,800. lucome tax receipts represent a large item in this figure, and amount to £44,208,000. This is im increase, of £0,580,000 oh last year’s figures. The receipts from estate duties to date at £65.040,000 are, however, over £3,000.000 lower than at the corresponding date last year. Customs and excise receipts, which during the current financial year have so far yielded £115,969,000, are over £2,000,000 more than at the corresponding date of 1936. Excluding self-balancing revenue, the total .of ordinary revenue from all sources for the period April 1 to August. 25 of the current year amounts to £228,416,413. as- compared with the figure of £232,203,520 received into the Exchequer in the corresponding period of 1933. The total ordinary expenditure to date is £271,093,'284., The . comparative figure last year was £268,876,158.
