SOUTH OTAGO

The Stirling Dairy Factory Company has just disposed of the balance of its season's output of cheese at 5Jd per lb, f.o.b. The purchasing agents were Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. It is believed that this is the highest price received this season by any Otago cheese factory. Prior to leaving Balclutha for Oamaru Mr J. M. Casey, of the Balclutha telephone exchange, was presented by the members of the staff with a wallet contain a sum of money. His successor is Mr H. J. Murphy from Hampden. The South Otago Freezing Works will probably close down for the season on June 30. and drafters are busy on the farms taking out the final drafts of sheep and lambs. Like the Southland works, it is expected that South Otago will show a shortage compared with last season. A team to represent Clutha. I against Clinton on the hitter's ground on Saturday will be selected from the following players:—Wilson, Henderson, Gold. Dawson, Guest, Warburton, Bowcott, Cruickshanks, Scoon, Moffat, Milne, Stephens, Boddington, Dreaver, Muir, Kaye, O'Laughlin. Other first grade matches will be:—Toko v. Crescent, at Kaitangata; Star v. Romahapa, at Romahapa; Owaka a bye. Second Grade: Coast v. Clutha, at Balclutha; Waiwera, v. Valley, at Clydevale: Woodlands v. Union, at Clarksville; Crescent v. Toko, at Milton; Hillend. a bye. Third Grade: South Otago High School v. Crescent, at Kaitangata.
