TAX EVASION CHARGE

THE MELLON CASE JURY FINDS “NO BILL.” MONTREAL, May 8. (Received May 9, at 10 p.m.) A Pittsburgh grand jury disposed of the Government’s tax evasion charge against Mr A. W. Mellon by refusing to return ail indictment to-day, declaring that the complaint was “ not a true bill.” Mr. Mellon, in expressing gratification, announced that instead of having evaded the payment of 716,000 dollars in income taxes in 1931 as charged he had actually overpaid arid now would seek a refund.
