In traversing the work of the year, Mrs Ewing, a vice-president of the Dunedin Free Kindergarten Association, said that the period under review, although a difficult one, had been successful in every way, on account of the excellent work of Miss Saunders and her staff, and the cooperation and help extended by the’ mothers. Thanks were due to the local committee for its continued interest and help; to the .church authorities for the loan of such comfortable rooriie, and to the children; themselves. ? , At the conclusion of her remarks,v,Mrs Ewing presented, t|je kindergarten with a number ’of books and was herself presented with O; bouquet by the, children. Miss Saunders and the-staff 'were .also the recipients of gifts and an interesting demonstration of songs ..and, games was given by the children, each of whom received a gift from a well laden Christmas tree. .The. gathering was brought to a close by the . singing of the National Anthem. • V .
