FIRM'S ' TOURNAMENT. An ■ all-day,' lawn tennis tournament was arranged ; by the management of the London Mantle. Manufacturing Company, Ltd. last week for the members of the staff. The tournament was played on the company's own court, which had been laid down last January for the recreation of the staff. .It has been in constant use'throughout, the; year, and the result of this was.evident last Thursday, when lawn tenuis c£ a good'standard was seen. Players were divided into two grades, A and B>. and as an inducement the management offered prizes. The following were ..the final results:— A Miss J. Aburn; runner-up, Miss W. Richardson. B Grade.—Winner, Miss L. Gordon; runner-up, Miss- M. Williams. PORBURY CLUB. The official opening of the Forbury Lawn Tennis Club took place at Forbury School on Saturday,, when, in spite of the unpleasant weather, there was a large attendance of members and friends. The club patron, Mr D. D. Stedman, declared the season open and wished the club a successful year.
