LEECH LYRIC CHOIR

,—_♦, _ On Tuesday, in the Concert Chamber, John Leech's Lyric Choir and Orchestra will present "A Tale of Old Japan (Coleridge Taylor), a work unsurpassed in charm and melodic beauty. The soloists will be Miss Anne White (soprano). Miss Maude Kenward (contralto), Mr William Ruffell (baritone), and.Mr C. R. Williamson (tenor). The first part of the programme will be a Burmese story "> sons, "■ A Pagoda of Flowers," by Amy Woc-d----forde-Finders, which is new to Dunedin audiences and has a captivating appeal with an irresistable Eastern flavour. It is a graphic tone painting of a love story with its setting in Rangoon at The Swe Dagon Pagoda." The soloists will be: Ma Mee, a flower-seller (Miss Noui Davidson, soprano); Ma Noo, a village girl (Miss Helen Roy, contralto); Somala, a young priest (Mr William Ruffell, baritone) : and Chit Maung, a college boy (Mr Alan Highet, tenor). Miss Nell Warren will give a descriptive foreword and incidental explanatory details. The orchestra will have Mr J. Wallace as leader, and Mr John T. Leech will conduct.
