-■ - • - ♦ ———. FINAL EXECUTIVE MEETING The final meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association for the season was held last evening, Mr J. Simpson presiding. CLOSING OF THE SEASON. It was decided to close the season next Saturday with a match for the Chinese Cup between the two top teams, Maori, Hill and Mosgiel. At the same time permission was granted the Pacific and Caversham Harrier Clubs to hold various athletic \ events. In closing the First Division competition, Maori Hill (30 points) were declared the winners of the Fletcher Cup, with Mosgiel (29 points) runnersup. High School (22 points) were declared the winners of the Fourth Division, with-, Mosgiel (20 points) runners-up. '■ ' ' - " ' OUT-OF-SEASON GAMES. The Mosgiel Club applied for permis-sion-to "play Seacliff on October 7 for the Steven Cup, and also to play a team from the H.M.S. Dunedin On October 14 and a team from the H.M.S. Diomede at'a later date, all three matches to bo played at Mosgiel.—The application was granted subject to the approval of the New Zealand Football Council. ' '. '.GENERAL. ' The use of the Gardens Ground was granted the Referees'! Club to play a match with the members of the Dunedin Highland Pipe Band;on Saturday. . ■ ', ; Replying •to . Otago's request for a refund of the council's share of the gross receipts of the'F.A. Trophy match Auckland v.- Otago, the secretary of the New Zealand Council" advised that owing to the heavy expenditure for'the season the council regretted that, ! it.was unable to accede to the request.—-Received.: 7 The Finance Committee was appointed to act as a Recess Committee. Before closing the season the chairman, expressed his thanks to'the members of the committee for the,manner in which the members had attended to their duties and for the support accorded; him throughout. In returning s' thanks on behalf of his colleagues on- the mittee, Mr M. G. MlHnes, complimented Mr Simpson on the excellent'manner in which the affairs of the association had been conducted under-his guidance," and said it had been : a pleasure to be, associated with him. ;• SATURDAY'S MATCH.
