PIGEON FLYING
RACE FROM ASHBURTON. The Dunedin Homing Pigeton Club flew its second Ashburton Pace on Saturday. The station master liberated 131 birds, representing 19 lofts, at 10.30 a.m,, in fine weather, but they struck rain at the homo end of the journey. The winning bird timed in at 2.42 p.m., completing the distance of 154 miles in 4hr 12min—a good performance on the day. The following is the result in yards per minute;^J.
