~..' ■■•• ft otago club. ■:>, A pleasant* function was held at the club house oh Saturday afternoon, tendered by the Otago ladies' Golf Club to their two members—Mrs Dodgshun and Miss Kay—who recently returned from Australia, where they played in the New Zealand team which won the Tasman Cup. Both of these players also competed in the Australian ladies' championship, Miss Kay winning the championship. The president of the Otago Ladies' Golf Club (Miss Begg), congratulated Miss Kay on the great honour she had brought to herself and the club in annexing the championship, and on behalf of her fellow members presented Miss Kay with a silver salver to show their appreciation of her fine performance. The president of the Otago Golf Club (Professor T. D. Adams) conveyed to the ladies the congratulations of the men's club. Mrs Dodgshun and Miss Kay spoke briefly in reply. During the afternoon a mixed foursome competition was played, but a heavy shower which fell before many had finished somewhat marred this event. The winners were Mr J. G. Dick and Mrs L. Hudson, who had a very good score of 3 up, closely followed by H. J. Pollock and Mrs E, Williams, with a card showing 2 up. Mr and Mrs R. W. Dick took third prize with a score of 1 down. . ST. CLAIR.CLUB, A good entry was received in the St. Clair's Four-ball Bogey Handicap on Saturday afternoon, when excellent conditions prevailed. The winning score of 6 up was returned by H. A. Gamble and C. J. Wood, followed by A. Smellie and A. G, Forbes, 5 up; P, T. Wren and J. Campbell, 4 up; B. C. O'Driscoll and 0. Garden, 4 up; G. Burnett and J. M. Paape, 4 up; W. B. Kincaid and J. Dobbje, 4 up; D, C. Bennie and R. J. Matthews, 4 up; A. D. Cormack and S. G. Morrison, 4 up; H. Hooper and J. Bain, 4 up. BELLFKNOWES CLUB. E. Lucas and E, Ridley with the score of 10 up were the winners of the Fourball Bogey Handicap played at Belleknowes on Saturday, S. Roberts and F. Olsen 6. up being runners-up. Other good cards were as follows:—D. Macfcay and J. Gooseman, 5 up; S. Sparrow and F. Haig, 5 up; G. Kemp and H. Patter* son, 4 up; G. Bell and R. .Penman, 3 up; J. Morrison and G. Simkin, 3 up; M.. Wilkinson and J, Cartwright, 1 up; E. Olsen and J. Hinohliffe, 1 up; E. Nees and F. Sharpe, 1 up; A. M'Millan and D. Gollan, all square; A. Lucas and A. Jefferson, all square.
