RICCARTON TRACK WORK

The best six furlongs at Riccarton on Tuesday morning was the trial between Guarantee and Cleaner. They moved off at a fast clip, running Imin 14sec,. and the last five furlongs in Imin 2 2-ssec. Guarantee carried J. W. Jennings nnd his stable-mate, a boy. It was a splendid performance on the part of both/ rue re was not much between Doiran (G. Humr phries) and High Tor (A. Eastwood) at the end of six furlongs in Imin 15 3-ssec, but Doiran appeared to be finishing tne better. Polydora and Rational II clocked Imin 16 2-ssec, the last three occupying 40sec. Martian Chief (C. Emerson) reached the halfway peg or if six-furlong gallop •in 39 l-ssec , aa d V as there joined by Tuiran, the trial bemg completed in Imin 18 3-ssec. Royal Limoud took nearly a second longer. Night Flyer' (C. Eastwood) shaded Kamo (A. Eastwood) over six furlongs, run in_lmm 18sec, the first three taking 38sec. There was nothing between them. There were a couple of particularly smart efforts oyer five furlongs. Helen Gold and Fleeting Glance, carrying about the same weights, ran home together in Imin _ 1 2-ssec, time which was equalled later- in the day by Manetho (Humphries), in company with Bright Shade (Messervey). Metal Bird and Robin Hood, with the Eastwoods up, also ran a smart five furlongs together. Delice (M. Kirwan) took Imm ssec and Croupier also moved freely over that distance.
