(Received Sept. 20, at 10.30 p.m.) The racehorse Equipoise is to be retired after the Havre De Grace Handicap on September 30. As Winooka is not eligible for the Havre de Grace Handicap there is apparently no chance that he and Equipoise will ever meet. Mr Whitney, the owner, explains that Equipoise ran last Saturday with a slight crack in the wall of a front hoof, and as this was a recurring •injury he decided to abandon his hopes of the horse becoming the world’s greatest , money winner.
