Cr Duncan has given notice to move at the next meeting of the city council, “ that to enable a review to be made of the question of a future site for the central fire station as well as for other reasons, the council decide to take no further action in regard to the proposals previously made for the establishment of a civic centre on the block occupied by the existing fire station and other buildings.” Cr Duncan said'ho did not believe that the people of Wellington realised what a civic centre would cost.'
