TAIERI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Taieri Agricultural Society was held in the society’s hall at Outram last night. Mr A. S. Gillespie presided, and there was an attendance of 38 members. The chairman reported that the Schedule Committee had met at the residence of Mr and Mrs R. T. Kirk. He thanked Mr and Mrs Kirk for their hospitality. Three recommendations from the General Committee were carried into effect;—(a) That in the cattle classes the female entries should be placed in advance of the male classes in the schedule, (b) That no entry fee should be charged in the class for the Clydesdale Horse Society’s medal; and (c) that no sheep over twoshear should be shown in the fat sheep classes. The _ secretary detailed the various alterations and additions to the schedule. A lengthy discussion took place regarding the milking of milch cows on the morning of the show. A rule was in the schedule to that effect, but the question was asked as to whether it was observed. —lt was eventually decided to leave the rule in the .schedule as previously. The Otago A. and P. Society notified that the annual horse parade in Dunedin would be held on September 22. —Received. Judges were nominated for the various classes.
