LADIES’ HOCKEY

MANIOTOTO SUB-ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the committee of the Maniototo Ladies’ Hockey Sub-association was held at Oturehua on Wednesday last. The North v. South trial match was fixed for July 9 at Oturehua. The match for the county banner between the premier teams, Dunstan Creek (North) and Waipiata (South), Avas fixed for July 16, also at Oturehua. The date suggested by the Central Otago Association (July 30) for the Tuapeka match was accepted, the match to be played at Lauder if the old hockey ground was available and in good order. Failing the Lauder ground the match would be played at Oturehua, The dates of August 13 for the county match v. Vincent and August 20 for the Maniototo seven-n-side tournament, at Ranfurly, were approved. It was resolved to add a B section and a primary school children’s section to the seven-a-side programme -this season. The following teams have been chosen to represent the North and South divisions of the county respectively. From these the county team will be selected: — North.—Misses P. Smith, A. Nicolson, J. Harley, T. Alexander, B. M'Gregor, M. M'Gregor, H Nicolson, D. Meade, A. Harley, J. Nicolson, Mrs M'Carthy; emergencies. N. Duncan and F. Becker. South,—Mrs Jenkins. Misses M. Copper, D. Johnston, F. Scott. E. Prichard. T. Jones, M. Cromb. Chapman, R. Warburton. R. Menzies, E Jones; emergency. Miss M'Bcnn.
