SMOKE AT WOODHAUGH.
TO THE EDITOR. Si*,—'Woodhaugb, on account of its natural features—bush; rock, and river—has its own peculiar charm. But that attraction wliicli Nature has so generously provided, is sadly marred by one most unfavourable man-made condition which makes an ugly blot upon the landscape, and is obnoxious. , It should -’hardly be needful to state that what is referred to is the. smoke nuisance, caused by the Paper Mill.. ’Surely something can he done (aa elsewhere, by the use of smokeless coal) to eliminate it, Tne writer only recently had perforce to heat a wise retreat, such was the awful condition of the atmosphere, Woodhaugh would be a- mu eh more pleasant -residential area than at present if this obstacle \fere Hoping that something will be done in the matter.—l am, etc..
