BALCLUTHA DISTRICT NEWS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, June 11. OBITUARY. MRS JOHN O’HARA. Many in Balclutha and neighbourhood will regret to learn of the sudden death of Mrs John O’Hara, aged 69, which occurred at the residence of her sister-in-law, Mrs Nohar, at Dunedin .on Sunday. Mrs O’Hara had been suffering from pleurisy, and had gone to the city for a week’s holiday. She seemed to be fully recovered, when a sudden heart seizure carried her off. Mrs O’Hara was born in Maidstone, Kent, England, and came to New Zealand in the ship Garelock in 1875 as a girl of 15 years. Two years later she was married to Mr O’Hara, who served for 40 years on the railways as ganger, and was stationed successively at Waipahi, ELariot, Lovell’s Flat, and Balclutha, win. i, after having retired from the railway service, he died in 1924. The deceased lady was an active member of the Methodist Church, and was highly esteemed for her lovable disposition by all who knew her. Her eldest son. Major W. H. O’Hara, D.C.M., was killed in the war, and she is survived by the following sons and daughters:—Messrs John O’Hara (Timaru), Charles O’Hara (Balclutha). Christopher O’Hara (Momona), A. E. O’Hara • Balclutha), Mesdames W. C. Barlow (Invercargill), John Sinclair (Balclutha), S. Lindsay (Invercargill), and B. Latta (Papatowai). The funeral wil* take place at Balclutha to-morrow.
