RIFLE SHOOTING.
DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB. The Dunedin Defence Rillo Club shot tho first competition for prizes presented by Captain Rrondfoot and Mr C. Speight on Saturday afternoon. Conditions were 10 shots at" 300yds and 600yds. Variable wind and light made high scoring difficult. The following are the Ugliest scores:— A GRADE. 3CO 600 yds. yds. Hep. TI. W. Facer 37 44 3 O G. The Kaitangata Defence Rifle Club held the third shoot of tho second competition, Loo Cup, on Saturday. For part of tho shoot the conditions were very hard, a very dull light and quick changes in the wind spoiling the scores of seveial members. K. Kitto and F. Carson shot brilliantly at 309yds, notching 34 each. The competition rosulcd in a win for J. H. Frazer, with 131 for the two Lost out of throe shoots; R. Kitto (130) was second; and J. Bellamy and G. Bellamy (128 each) are to shoot off for third place. W. Oliver and T. Frazer were close up with 127 each. The following arc the scores; the limit
