CITY POLICE COURT.
Thursday, January 19. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) MOTORIST FINED. George Spiers (Mr A. C. Hanlon) was charged with being in charge of a motor car while in a state of intoxication. Sub Inspector Fahey said that Spiers bad run into a fence and veranda post on the Kai korai Valiev road wniln attempting to enter •i rlght-of-way.-Mr Hanlon said that his client, who was a temperate man, had taken liquor for medicinal reasons As ho was not accustomed to it he had been affected. —The Magistrate said that it was iimallv the custom in such cases to suspend a man’s license, but the was one ol a special nature and a heavy [me would bo •sufficient —Defendant, who had pleaded cuilty. was fined £lO.
