FREEZING WORKERS.

UNIONISTS RESUMING. VOLUNTEERS RETAINED. (Peb United Pbess Association.) GISBORNE, December 6. The members of the Freezing Workers’ Union decided to accept employment, and a large nurnber of men applied at both works this morning. Only a small number of these were required, as many volunteer workers bad elected to remain for the season, and, having ■'"’■died for membership in the union, were kept on. Only 25 out of 70 applicants got positions at the Kaiti works. THE FEILDING WORKS. SIX UNIONISTS ENGAGED. (Peb United Pbess Association.) FEILDING, December 6. At the freezing works this morning six butchers were called in in addition to the 20 voluntters previously engaged. The six unionists immediately accepted their hooks, and worked with the volunteers, everything going smoothly. Lambs ar© rather late in maturing, but increasing numbers aro coming forward daily.
