A GIANT PARACHUTE
ATTACHABLE TO AEROPLANES. FRENCH EXPERT’S INVENTION. (Pres* ABBOdation— By Telegraph-Copyright.) PARIS, December 5. The inventor, M. Robert, who since 1898 has been working on aeronautical development. is planning a giant lifebuoy parachute with a carrying surface of 500 square metres, capable of supporting an entire aeroplane. It would be attached to the fuselage with metal guards as a precaution against fire. The passengers would also be provided with parachutes. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
