HOCKEY.
OTAGO ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting of the executive of the Otago Hockey Association was held in the Y.M.O.A. Rooms on Monday. Mr D. Woodfield occupied the chair. Before commencing the business of the evening tribute was paid to the memory of Mr S. Foote, a late vice-president of the association and chairman of the committee. After conferring with the Referees’ Association, Mr J. Starr was nominated as Otago's referee in the match with the Indian Array team on June 19, the secretary’s action in this regard being confirmed. Univerity Club was granted permission to play its annual fixtures at Wellington against other colleges this week. Other sports bodies in this city had been written to requesting them to extend their full sujjport upon the occasion of the match with the Indian Army team. It was resolved that the City v. Technical Old Boys match be played on Saturday, and the matter of trials bo left in the hands of the selector. Mr James Hogg (president) reported having attended a meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association last week. The work of the local association was approved. All sports in Christchurch were being postponed for two Saturdays upon the occasion of the first test match. The matter of sending a junior team on tour was discussed, and further consideration was left till after the Indian team’s visit.
