OTAGO HOSPITAL BOARD.
COMMITTEE REPORTS. The Benevolent Committee of the Otago Hospital Board reports that it had dealt with 22 cases for relief, and that casual cases of relief amounting to £lB3 lie 6d had been approved. Two applications for relief bod been declined. IKinng the past month nine persons had been admitted to, one discharged from and one death had occurred at the Otago Benevolent Institution. At present 155 inmates remained. Requisitions for oil, linoleum, brushware, crookeryware, mattresses, drapery, linen, etc for the Otago Benevolent Institution and Infirmary had been granted. Paysheets and accounts amounting to £lOll 4s 3d were passed for payment. The Sanatorium Committee reported that the secretary had been authorised to reply to the letter received from Messrs Downie Stewart and Payne in reference to damage by fire to fences and trees on property adjoining the board’s eanatoriam property at Pleasant Valley. Requisitions for engineering requirements, orockeryware, drapery, and sundries for the Pleasant Valley Sanatorium hod been granted. Pay sheets and accounts amounting to £579 2s 10d were passed for payment.
