CROSS-WORD PUZZLE MATINEE. Commencing on Saturday at the children’s matinee at 2.50 p.m., IVlr _J. V. Hanna s big production gives promise of being a most diverting and entertaining show. The children have been catered for specially, and a cross-word puzzle so framed as to prove a good test for them has been distributed. Splendid prizes are offered for the first six correct solutions opened, and the children have entered into the competition with great enthusiasm. The items to bo presented are such as to provide wholesome entertainment for tho young people, and will bo equally enjoyed by their parents. Groups of pupils will give agile demonstrations of modern calisthenics and gymnastics presented in fresh and original settings. The scenas, including “Sahara,” “An Autumn Reverie,” “Tho Hunt,” are particularly pleasing in point of artistic lighting and staging. The costuming of the show has received special attention, and the spectacular effect should be well worth seeing, as there are 300 performers. Assisting artists will offer popular items, while the orchestra of 15 is to dispense a special score of music. The box plan is now open at the Bristol, and special prices will be charged for the matinee. There are (o bo three evening performances_ in addition, commencing on Saturday night.
