EMBEZZLEMENT
HOSPITAL BOARD CLERK’S LAPSE. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 5. Thomas Alexander Mitchell, aged 30 vears, formerly a clerk in tho Hospital Board’s service, pleaded guilty this morning to charges of stealing moneys totalling £SBB, the property of the board, and was committed for sentence. The auditor gave evidence that tho amount involved was £1594. Accused had secured money by signing the "names of cx-cmployccs to the salary vouchers.
