Vice-Regal. Their Excellencies, Sir Charles and Lady Alice Fergmmon, accompanied by their daughter, Miss Fcrgusson, and Uioir niece, Miss Orr-Ewing, will leave Dunedin by the north express at 8.40 a.m. to-day, en rodte for Wellington. Ministerial. ' The. ITon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Labour and Mines and acting Minister of Industries and Commerce, arrived in Dunedin from Ooro Inst night. Mr Anderson has been paying a visit to the various towns in his electorate. Ho will visit tho Exhibition this morning and will also pay a visit to some of tho industrial firms. At 4.50 1 p.m. ho will receive a depulation headed by Professor Park at the Grand Hotel, when the possibility of holding a mining conference in Dunedin during the Exhibition . period will be d' s(, ussed. Mr Anderson will go north by tho express tomorrow. Sir James and Lady Parr will arrive in Dunedin on Wednesday, Juno 17, find will return to Wellington on Friday, June 19. They will stay at tho Grand Hotel. Mr R. Murrell, of Manapouri, is at prorent visiting Dunedin. Dr 11. P. Piekerill and Dr Raynor Bell returned to Dunedin yesterday afternoon from a visit (o Christchurch. Mr. Septimus Owen was a passenger on the north express yesterday, eu route to Wellington and Sydney. Dr G. E. Thompson, who has been attending a conference of the Dominion Council of tho Workers’ Educational Association at Christchurch, returned to Dunedin yesterday afternoon. Sir John Roberts and Mr C. W. Rattray (directors of tho Union Steam Ship Companv), and Mr S. K. Sleigh (manager o' tho local branch) wore passengers on the r.oith express yesterday en route to Wellington. Mr A. 11. Holden, Australian manager for Messrs Wilkinson, Key-wood, and Clark, London, and Mr 11. G. Keith, New Zealand representative of the same firm, are visiting Dunedin. Mr Holden is accompanied hv Mrs Holden. A Christchurch Press Association message states that Mr A. M. Burns, sub-editor and assistant editor of tho Christchurch Press, will shortly vacate that past in order to take up tho position of manager of the Christchurch Press Company (Ltd.). A largo and representative gathering assembled at. Ownka on Friday evening, when opoortunitv was taken to bid goodbye to Mr and Mrs Jas. Struck, who are leaving Qwaka after nine years’ residence in the township. On IxJialf of (ho residents Mr J. J. Walker, who occupied tho chair, presented Mr and Mrs Struck with a substantial cheque, and, in doing .so, referred to Mr Straok’s unflagging and active interest in tho welfare of tho district. Mr Struck suitably replied.
