SUPPLYING MILK- UPTURNS FARMERS AND CITY COUNCIL. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 11. Tht, Wellington Suburban Farmers’ Association and tno City Council came to (Trips over the latter’.s recently-passed by-law. requiring certain returns to be furnished by farmers, covering their milk operations. At the association’s annual mooting, the report to which was adopted, after declaring a desire to reach a settlement, it was stressed that fin council’s Milk Committee was trying to harass them in every way possible, and that it breathed defiance of the rules of the council would impose. It was pointed out that fanners could not live on the prices offered by the council. One speaker declared that “another battle is coming,” since constant summonses to attend court had left tho fanner no time at all. Tho by-law to which objection is taken requires farmers each mouth to supply verified details of tho milk sold in the city. Leading businesses and hospitals in (bo eitv, it was contended, took nearby farmers’ milk in preference to tho municipal supply.
