(Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Aujrust 15 At tho Harbours Conference a recommendation v/as agreed lo authorisinty harbour boards to pay annual premiums on fidelity insurance policies. The conference endorsed a remit sufrgeatinp that the association should tako up with the New Zealand Underwriters' Association tho matter of fidelity guarantee policies being brought more into lino with tho principle. 3 underlying the security furnished by personal bonds, the matter being left to the executive to deal with.

It was agreed to suggest that the Harbour Boards Act should bo amended by increasing tho allowance which boards may tnako to their chairman from £2OO to £4OO. Tho election of officers resulted: —President, Mr G. Mitchell (Wellington); vicepresidents—Mr H. It. M'Kenzio (Auckland), Mr F. Horrell (Lyltelton), Mr D. Larnach (OtagoJ; other members of tho executive—Messrs C. K. Ellison (Napier), C. E. Bellringer (New Plymouth), A. G. Bignell (Wanganufl, W. Hayman (Tirnaru), Captain C. M'Arthur (Wellington) ; secretary, Mr A. G. Barrett (Wellington); auditor, Mr H. E Nicholls (Wellington).
