ENGINE RUNS INTO SLIP.

PASSENGERS ESCAPE INJURY. (Peh United Press Association ) WOODVILLE, August 15. Tho train from Palmerston North, arriving at Woodvillo at 8 a.m., ran into a slip coming out. of the tunnel in the gorge. The engine hit a boulder, and was derailed, with four trucks. The carriages were pulled up in the tunnel, and none of the 12 passengers was hurt. A chain of track was damaged, hut tho lino will probably bo open by this afternoon. Traffic is held up in tho meantime. 'The Gorge road is also closed.

TRADT SERVICE RESUMED. PALMERSTON N., August 15. Tho gorgo railway wn.s cleared before noon, and tho trains are airain running. Tho mail trains are expected to maintain schedule time.
