DOMINION AWARD SOUGHT.

The Arbitration Court continued the hearing of the application b)- the Drivers' Federation for a now dominion award. Ths existing wases, according to -witnesses, ranged from £4 5s to £4 15s, the award rate beinjr the minimum of £3 17s. There was a difficulty, it was stated, in living on the wafres received, and damage was done to clothes and boots by the material carried, such as lime, cement, artificial mantiroa. One witness declared that o genera! driver was a sort of Jack of all tro.dos —a shipping clerk, a railway clerk, a labourer, and a carter combined.
