ROYAL AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The first annual meeting of Iho Royal Agricultural Society will bo held in the Farmers’ Institute buildings, Wellington, on Thursday, July 17, when a ropbrt and balance sheet will bo submitted and officers elected for the ensuing year. Nomination? for iho various positions closed on Mav 2b. Mr IV. Perry, of Masterton. was the only person nominated lor the position of president, and Mr R. M. D. Morten, of Tai Tapu, was the only one nominated for vice-president. Those two gentlemen will, therefore, ha duly elected. For (lie position of bon, treasurer Air W. D. Hunt, of Wellington, and Mr J. M. Johnston, of Palmerston, have been nominated. For tho vacancies on the council 12 names were received for election, representing the North Island, for which there are only throe vacancies, and a similar number of nominations were received for (he .South Island, for which there are seven vacancies. Voting papers must reach Wellington not later than July 1.
