BELGIUM AHD HEW ZEALAND
OUTLET FOR DOMINION PRODUCE EXCHANGE OF VIEWS IN LONDON. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 25. Sir James Allen, in entertaining the Belgian Delegation, referred to wartime friendship. He paid a tribute to the Belgians for unremitting care of New Zealand graves. He said that New Zealand was not so narrow-minded that she failed to see the desirability of going outside the Empire if an opening oould be found to sell goods or to buy necessities at satisfactory prices, despite the fact that her main and foremost idea was to develop inter-Empire trade. The Belgian Ambassador (M. Moncheur), in replying, said the war had opened the eyes of Belgium to the value of frozen beef, mutton, and cheese. The Belgians were consuming increasing quantities of these. M. Moncheur prophesied excellent markets in Belgium for Now Zealand high-quality produce, and said ne hoped that direct steamers would soon be established. —Sydney Sun Cable.
