IMPERIAL FLEET.
THE COMING VISIT. (From Our Own Corißfppondfnt.) WELLINGTON. March 30. The visit of the units of the British Imperial Fleet is timed for April 24. and should prove to bo of very great interest not only to the city of Wellington but to the dominion as a whole. It marks an important opoch in our history. In connection with this visit tho Mayor, as chairman of the Reception Committee, is making an appeal to the citizens of Wellington to supplement tho funds already in hand to entertain Sir Frederick Field and the offi c-ers and men of the battleships Hood and Repulse and the cruisers Adelaide and Chat bam. There are approximately 3000 men to entertain, and the Reception Committee anticipates that at least an additional £7s*o will bo required to suitably carry this out in a manner befitting the Empire city. The City Council has contributed £SOO and the Harbour Board £250.
