WOUNDED IN THE HIP.
EXTRAORDINARY SHOOTING CASE. (Pee United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 14. An extraordinary shooting case occurred in Cashel street a little after 6 o clock this evening, when Donald Ferguson, who subseouently gave his address as the Royal Hotel, Tiniaru, was shot in the right hip. As is customary at that hour the street was practically deserted. According to Ferguson’s statement ho was drinking at the fountain when a bullet hit him. , , , Two policemen at the corner of Gasnel and Colombo streets heard an explosion, and soon afterwards Ferguson came to theta and complained that he) had shot An examination revealed that ho had been hit by a small calibre bullet. An inquiry at the hospital reevaled the fact that his condition is favourable.
