(Received Jan. 15, at O.HO a.m.) New South Wales defeated South Australia by an innings and 104 runs. New South AValos in their first innings made runs {Kippax 248, Hendry 47, Oldfield 36). Williams took four wickets for 196 and Whitty three for 153. _ South Australia’s second innings realised 197 (Y. Richardson 67). Everett took six wickets for 54 runs. A feature of the match was the sparkling display by Kippax, whose shots were reminiscent of Trumpcr. His score is the. second highest in a Sheffield Shield match for New South Wales, Duff holding the record with 271. Olem Hill (South Australia) holds the record for the series with 365. Kippax’s score included 32 4’s. In the visitors’ second effort Everett found his length with fast deliveries, and in addition to his taking six wickets several chances were missed off his bowling.
