A meeting of the Fruit and Produce Exchange decided to write down the .preference shares from £1 to 6s, ordinary shares from £1 to Is, and the goodwill Irani £285,058 to £10,598. The chairman stated that the losses were mostly made in connection wifi overseas trading and heavy office administration. —A. and N.Z. Cable. In September last it was stated that the accounts of the Fruit and Produce Exchange of Great Britain, Ltd., for the 16 months ended December last showed a loss cf £86,123. The directors stated that they were preparing a scheme which, if the shareholders approved, should place the company on a sound financial basis. The company imported a large quantity of Australian apples and pears.
