The Riga correspondent of The Times says: “Russia has decided to colt orate Christmas by the propagation of Atheism. The Soviet authorities have instructed ad branches of the League of Communist Youth to limit the Christmas festivities f o scientific and Atheistic propaganda, to avoid open-air masquerades, and to confine their efforts to instilling into the minds of the working youths a materialistic outlook. The trade union organisations have been ordered to arrange and finance the festivities, to which they must attract as many youths and maidens and children as possible. The Georgian Soviet Government has abolished the Christmas vacation in the schools, and has substituted other dates coinciding with thp Bolshevik re voluti.ona.ry festivals. —The Times.
