Houses are being rushed up in large numbers at Wembley, and in many cases they arc being sold for' sums ranging from £BOO to £2OOO, according to size, as soon as the foundations are laid. Many people are buying them with a view tc letting them at a profit during the currency of the Empire Exhibition. —A. and N.Z. Cable. GREAT AMUSEMENT PARK. LONDON,. November 27. The Empire Exhibition Committee has fixed the horn’s for opening the exhibition at from 10 a.ra. to li p.m. There is still discussion as to whether the exhibition will open on Sundays. The contractors, having completed the palaces of industry and engineering, arc hurrying forward other buildings. Ihe Industrial and” engineering exhibitors are already fixing the foundations for their own exhibits. Tho amusement park is one of the chief attractions. Many of its features are Kept secret. It is to cost £1,000,000, but even this sum is thought to be inadequate. Senator Wilson states that he is pleased with the progress of the Australian pavilion. It was “a rush for everyone, Out Australia was doing as well as anyone. . “There are a good many people throwing bricks at Australia, he said but when the work is finished there wiil be no grounds for criticism.”
