A BANK’S COLLAPSE
CONSTERNATION AMONG DEPOSITORS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright DELHI, April 29. The supension of the Alliance Bank of Delhi has caused' consternation. Thousands of Europeans (individuals and firms) are affected. The bank’s position has been regarded as somewhat shaky for some time, but the Europeans anticipated Government backing to prevent its closing. It is believed that within a few days it will be possible to pav the investors 50 per 'cent, of their' deposits, but no official announcement on this point has been made.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
