The Sunday Express savs: "Sir Percy Cox, during a farewell banquet at Bagdad, foreshadowed that the British occupation in Mesopotamia would last for four years longer. Ho declared that he could not speak for the Government, except to state that peace with Turkey was essential. Ho had no doubt that the British ■would stay until Mesopotamia could stand alone in a state of ultimate independence, which would be finally achieved in iour years.”—A. and N.Z. Cable.
