DUNEDIN FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION.

Tho monthly meeting of tho Free Kindergarten Association was held on Thursday afternoon. Miss Alexander, tho president, was in tho chair. Tho Education Committee reported that there were seven now students ccmnnoucing training as kindergarteners, making a total of 17 students taking their practical work in tho kindergartens in tlio mornings. Miss Dutton will commence tiieir afternoon theory classes on Alonday. Tho now kindergarten opened in tho Sutherland Hall, Kaikorai, has commenced well and should be a groat asset to that suburb. There has been an enthusiastic local sub-committoo appointed to run it Miss Darling reported that Messrs Eccles, Hollow, and Finder, three fathers of 11. S. Reynolds Kindergarten children, had spent their holidays in a labour of love tidying tho Reynolds garden and kindergarten Airs Hancock wrote resigning from the committee. She has been a valuable member of committee, and her resignation was received with great regrot. A motion of regret was passed in connection with the death of Mrs Mark Cohen, who was for many years a member of the committee till ill-health compelled her to resign. The Hon. M. Cohen was one of tho founders of free Idnclergartens in Dunedin 34 years ago, and has done much during these .years to further the work in this city. In all his schemes Ji° was inspired and assisted by the onthusiam of his wife.

The collector handed in subscriptions amounting to £l9 Ss 6d.
