ITItST WOMAN MAGISTRATE RACIAL DISTINCTIONS BILL. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright DELHI, February 12. Mrs Cousins, the well-known authoress, has been appointed a special magistrate. She is the first woman magistrate in India. The Racial Distinctions Bill is having a protracted passage through the Assembly. The Indian members are raising all manner of objections to what they term Whitehall interference *and the privileged treatment of British soldiers and other Europeans.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
