It was written round the supposed life in a moving picture studio, with all its opportunities for farce and satire. There was a fuming, blustering director, a Charlie Chaplin comedian. a matter-of-fact camera man. and several impudent scene-shifters. When a combination of accidents and errors of judgment turned the scene into chaos the effect was thoroughly laughable. Johnny Wiggins, played by Mr Bonnison. is a hefty, goodnatured. .straightforward cowboy, who performs the sensational riding feats and stunts for rather effeminate leading actors in Western drama. Hero his manners and actions, born of the free ‘out West,’ come into painful contact with the affected gentility of bis noble hosts. Mr Bonnison revealed himself as an actor of distinct qualifications His personality won ail hearts from the beginning, and his success was fortified by the natural way in which he characterised a type that has become the hero of many a. best-seller among novels.” “ The Lady of My Dreams.” a drama of (he Bohemian quarter of Rome, and ‘The Great Jxrver,” a comedy-drama of b ; o on the grand onera, stage, will also be .-taged for two nights each.
