A cable was .sent, by the. prohibitionists to' the Civic League, Detroit : “Published here that Ford dismissed IG.OCO men for drinking, and laid off 100,000 more; cable f, Tho following reply lias been received:— “ The coni strike forced Ford to close all his plants for four days. The 100,000 now restored lo full time; no connection with liquor. Ford also published a. statement that Ids plants hereafter would bo absolutely drv. and ‘no man would he employed with the .smell of liquor on his breath,’ Great enthusiasm was kindled nationally among the <,lry forces/’
